Our Story
From Family Trips to Dakota Breeze
Ryan Rusher's love for Roatán started with family vacations. He wanted his kids to see something beyond South Dakota: snorkel a reef, explore mangrove tunnels, eat fresh seafood on the sand. Those trips kept pulling the family back, year after year, until the island stopped feeling like a destination and started feeling like home.
In January 2025, Dakota Breeze opened its doors as one of the newest vacation rentals by owner on Roatán's east end. Ryan brought the same hands-on approach he uses at his US businesses, Dakota Tin and CeilingConnex, to every detail of the house: the local art on the walls, the outdoor kitchen facing the ocean, the gear waiting by the door. The goal was simple: give other families and friend groups the same Caribbean magic the Rushers found in Milton Bight.
Your Host
Ryan handles every booking personally. He'll send you restaurant picks before you land, arrange a Tiki Boat pickup from the dock, and check in during your stay.
Not a Management Company
This is the Rusher family's own home. Ryan is the one answering your messages, not a call center.
